AMERICAN FRIENDS OF ELI

Accomplishments

ELI provides therapy to almost 5,000 children annually, in addition to thousands more family members, and handles about 9,000 referrals and calls to the hotline from abused children, professionals, friends, neighbors and family members.

We can proudly say that at least 80% of the children go through a successful therapeutic process; the abuse is stopped as are the negative emotional consequences.

ELI is a dynamic organization responding to societal issues as they arise, such as cyberbullying and internet safety, opening in new geographic locations, and adapting its therapeutic modalities as needed.

We developed “ELI’s Purple Help Button,” an online hotline, which will help simplify and make the process more accessible for children and others to reach out to us.

We renewed our partnership with the Knesset in May 2023 with the launching of a joint child advocacy initiative to raise awareness and impact social policy.

We have greatly expanded our training to include training of ultra-Orthodox therapists, educational psychologist, foster parents, and others.

Our renowned school-based abuse prevention and awareness program is expected to reach 100,000 school children. This program typically results in identification of about 1,500 (1.5%) cases of abuse, some of which are self-identified.

As experts in trauma, we are proud of the leading role we have been playing in providing complex trauma relief to survivors of the October 7th massacre and evacuees from towns along the Gaza border.
